Building Johannesburg on MIX 93.8 FM

It was always a great experience to spend time in the MIX 93.8 FM studio with Graham Alexander on his show, “Building Johannesburg”.

I never knew exactly what we were going to talk about, Graham always had a lifetime of Johannesburg anecdotes, memories and passions to share. Henceford Khoza drove the controls, trying to keep us on some sort of schedule, Ruth Chambers tapped away on social media. The listeners were apt to introduce new topics at no notice and I improvised as a free flowing conversation evolved.

The source of everything was this mad mining-camp called Johannesburg that we all share. The result the most fun I had on radio in 2024.

Unfortunately, this iteration of MIX 93.8 FM, like so many of Johannesburg’s landmarks has been swept aside, but I think the conversations still hold up. Take a listen for yourself…
